A gentleman owner has decided to try and save a fortune by instructing Manchester-based My Online Estate Agent to advertise the property, shown here in Grosvenor Gardens.
An 18-bedroom London mansion worth £24 million is being sold online to save around £400,000 in estate agent fees. The owner of this Grade II-listed, seven-storey home in Grosvenor Gardens, Westminster, has put it up for sale on the My Online Estate Agent website. Alongside the huge number of bedrooms, it features three reception rooms and 11 bathrooms. The property, part of a terrace dating back to 1868, has parquet flooring, marble staircases, original wood panels and ornately decorated ceilings
It also boasts a view of Buckingham Palace and access to private gardens in Belgrave Square.
The Manchester firm says that, by going online and paying a one-off charge of £549, the owner has saved themselves more than £400,000 by avoiding commission fees high street firms normally charge.A spokesman said: “We’ve sold London properties before for around the £1 million bracket.
The Grade II listed mansion was built in the 1860s with accommodation arranged over seven floors. It boasts parquet flooring, original wood panelling, ornately decorated ceilings. There is a fully-fitted kitchen with marble worktop.
With 12,640 sq/ft of space, the mansion is around 14 times the size of the average UK home. At £24 million, it is 127 times more expensive than the typical £188,000 paid for home last month.
In the same week the Grosvenor Gardens home went online the same website listed a two-bedroom terraced home in Burnley for £63,000. The owner of the Burnley house will pay the same in fees as the owner of the Belgravia mansion.
