Project targeting repeat criminals over property crime expanded

The Minister for Justice and Equality, Ms. Frances Fitzgerald, T.D. today launched the Joint Agency Response to Crime initiative (J-ARC).   J-ARC is a joint strategy between An Garda Síochána, the Probation Service and the Irish Prison Service. Launching J-ARC the Minister said that, “While it is well known that I am particularly committed to strengthening support for the victims of crime, as Minister for Justice and Equality, I would also like to oversee a system which aims to reduce the number of victims by a reduction in offending. IMF’s Executive Board SDR Basket completed review , Includes Chinese

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today completed the regular five-yearly review of the basket of currencies that make up the Special Drawing Right (SDR). A key focus of the Board review was whether the Chinese renminbi (RMB) met the existing criteria to be included in the basket. The Board today decided that the RMB met all existing criteria and, effective October 1, 2016 the RMB is determined to be a freely usable currency and will be included in the SDR basket as a fifth currency, along with the U.S. dollar, the euro, the Japanese yen and the British pound. Launching the new SDR basket on October 1, 2016 will provide sufficient lead time for the Fund, its members and other SDR users to adjust to these changes. Amazon Prime will be delivering goods by drones to homes in UK and Ireland in the near future

Amazon's drone delivery project Prime Air has unveiled a new prototype in a video featuring former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson . Home delivery Amazon Prime style According to the videos, the drone could fly for up to 15 miles (24km) and deliver a parcel within 30 minutes of the order being placed. There was no indication of when it might be used by the retail giant. The firm was  given permission to test delivery drones in the US   earlier this year. It also has drone delivery development centres in the UK and Israel. Benefits  Using home delivery could potentially reduce Carbon footprint ,CO2 emissions in cities and on roads. Effective interest rates: October 2015 The effective rate paid on households’ outstanding time deposits decreased by 7bps to 1.52% in October and the rate for households’ new time deposits increased by 4bps to 1.55%.   The effective rate on the stock of outstanding secured loans (mortgages) decreased by 1bp to 3.03% in October and the new secured loan rate fell to 2.52%, a decrease of 5bps on the month.  BoE Financial Stability Report, December 2015 The rate on outstanding unsecured personal loans decreased by 3bps to 6.81% in October and the new unsecured personal loan rate decreased by 2bps to 6.95%.
