Liverpool chart star turned property developer is converting a community church into homes as part of his family’s ongoing effort to rejuvenate the Liverpool 8 neighbourhood where they grew up. The £2m redevelopment of Belvidere Baptist Church in Princes Park is the latest project from ECAM Properties , which was founded in the mid-1980s by brothers Eddyand Chris Amoo of British soul sensations The Real Thing. After a string of smash hits including the number one ‘You to Me Are Everything’ and ‘Children of the Ghetto’, they set up the business to put something back into the L8 area were they grew up and breathe new life into its neglected buildings. Today the family firm is run by Eddy [pictured above centre] , his wife Sylvia and their daughters Dionne and Marlene.
