Stop estate agents from using underhand tactics
Letter to the Editor

I am writing to ascertain how we can stop estate agents telling downright lies or not putting offers to their vendors.

We have come across two cases where the estate agents has informed the buyer that he will not put forward their offer if they do not arrange the mortgage with them.
UK online alternative finance market grew to £3.2 billion in, 2015 Real estate is the single most popular sector

In another instance, the estate agent requested sight of the Decision in Principle for one of our long-standing clients. After providing this, they then requested bank statements, wage slips and passports on the pretext they had to carry out money laundering. What nonsense is that? I was unaware of this at the time as I would have told them to take a running jump.

P2P mortgages alternative finance, mortgages selling became harder for banks and estate agents though easier for consumer

Two hours after providing the documents, our client received a phone call from their in-house mortgage consultant inviting him to the office stating that he could find them a better deal. Really? The client declined. So, maybe some readers can come up with answers, because, if not, they will get away with things that we brokers will not always be aware of as they are now so unethical.
